Decent Talk's members can Sound Off on these pages about situations in the world that are, in the estimation of DT members, hostile to basic human rights and in opposition to the concept of decency to people in general. Members of Decent Talk have never denigrated anyone's politics or religion within the channel, but there are times when groups or governments deliberately deny or attempt to deny citizens their inalienable rights to freedom and the pursuit of happiness. It is to these issues Sound Off will be dedicated. Readers of articles an opinions published on Sound Off may make comments concerning the issues.

Comments will only be posted after viewing and possible editing by the webmaster or forum's editor. Use of comments here is moderated for content: malicious, obvious, or known inaccuracies will not be posted.

All articles submitted for publication to Sound Off must have a minimum of four (4) references to URLs (website addresses) which support the information given in the article, said references to be shown at the end of each respective article.

Articles must be no more than 1000 words in length, and will be edited for content and veracity (so far as can be determined by website references) before posting. When no comments to the article have been posted for a period of 90 days following its posting, the article will be removed. Articles must be about current events, and must be factual insofar as the authors may determine. Editorializing may be done within an article, so long as it is done in the summary (the last paragraph), and may not include inflammatory material concerning individuals, races, or nations.

Note: Decent Talk membership and founding members exclude satanism as being a religion: satanism or satanic content in any context is not allowed on the IRC #Decent_Talk chat channel, included in userinfo. Articles posted in the Sound Off section of this site may only refer to satanism where such referral is provably accurate, however, we will neither solicit nor post articles regarding such practices except where those practices may be readily seen to impinge on or deny basic human rights.
